REfficient President & CEO Stephanie McLarty has been selected to receive an award through McMaster University which recognizes young alumni who have made exceptional accomplishments in their lives and careers. The Arch Award recognizes McMaster's most recent graduates for their unique and interesting contributions to society, their local community, and to McMaster University.

McLarty started REfficient (www.REfficient.com), an online reuse and recycling marketplace for
businesses, in 2010. REfficient has helped large companies and small businesses divert 430 metric
tonnes from landfill through buying, selling, and recycling surplus equipment, as well as providing
metrics to show how companies are being sustainable. Approximately 50% of the marketplace resale
revenues are now exports to global customers.
“I am humbled to receive this prestigious award. My experience at McMaster, and particularly the Arts & Science programme, gave me a great foundation to be an entrepreneur today,” said McLarty, 31. “I also chose to move back to Hamilton and relocate my business here, so it means a lot to me to be recognized locally.”
